Should the elevator installation and repair unit, maintenance and operation personnel obtain corresponding qualifications?

Yes. The installation, maintenance and repair of the elevator shall be subject to the approval of the special equipment safety supervision and administration department of the State Council before engaging in the corresponding activities. The installation, modification and maintenance of the elevator must be carried out by the elevator manufacturing unit or the unit that has obtained the license in accordance with the “Special Equipment Safety Supervision Regulations” entrusted by the contract and agreed. The elevator manufacturing unit is responsible for the quality of the elevator and the quality issues involved in safe operation.
Elevator installation, maintenance and repair, elevator operators and their relevant management personnel shall be qualified by the special equipment safety supervision and management department in accordance with relevant state regulations, and obtain the national unified format of special operation personnel certificate before they can engage in corresponding operations or management.
